The pilot in this aircraft accident, had seen the previous picture, and though it was a real hot day he had a jacket on. He ran off the end of the runway, sheared the nose gear, and jumped out of the cockpit and not having practiced egress, fell in a pool of the burning fuel, which burned the sleeves almost completely out of the jacket. The flight surgeon said without the jacket, he would have been a double arm amputee, which is a lot worse than looking at that gory picture.
