aircraft escape instructionsemergency procedures
DC-9's or MD-80's have an extra exit. Most passengers don't realize where the exit is because they fail to read the safety instructions. If you're seated at the rear of the plane, you have a tendency to want to exit through the front of the plane where you boarded. If you read the directions you would know you had the option, if directed by a flight attendant, to go to the rear, pull the emergency cord, the tail cone will fall off, the slide will inflate, and you're home free.
